HYRAGYRUSIN [Hoffn] personality type is INTP, and a member of the Western Civilization. Our subject's name is Mary, from a small town in southern England. She is 40 years old. Mary is a medical student at Oxford University. She has been dating for over a year. Mary is a very selective and self-aware person. My subject Mary has high intelligence, but she is also very conservative and not as open as some other INTPs I have known. She wants to be a doctor, which is very admirable, but she has had a very difficult time finding a mentor. She has been in college for six years and is now an undergraduate at Oxford Medical School. When she expressed an interest in pursuing a career in medicine, her father was very upset. He felt that his daughter should pursue a career in law, or at least in some kind of business. He was worried that she would become bored with medical school and want to leave her studies. Mary felt that her father was being unreasonable and unfair, and was also hurt by his lack of support and understanding. Her father was verbally abusive towards Mary, which made Mary feel very guilty about the relationship. This only made her relationship with her father more difficult, even though Mary was not the one in the wrong.
